Independence: The Second Best Location in Ohio to Start a Business
Nerdwallet.com, a source for information, insight and consumer-driven advice about personal finance, named the City of Independence the second best location to start a business in the State of Ohio. “It’s an example of the hard work of the Administration and the Economic Development Team” said Mayor Greg Kurtz. “I think it’s another indicator that we are moving in the right direction as a community” said Kurtz on the recent ranking.
The metrics for Nerdwallet.com’s study found that 35 percent of Independence’s score revolved around its local economic health, while 65 percent pertained to its business climate. The report noted that Independence is a hub for information services and tech companies. Satellite offices of tech giants Microsoft and EMC have provided entrepreneurs an established pool of talent and opportunity.
“This ranking has reinforced our actions and gives us the evidence we need to continue our efforts so that Independence remains at the forefront of business, industry and commerce in Northeast Ohio” reflected Kurtz.
